ROAD RUNNER WHO?
You know. Road Runner Sports! Your fun, local running, walking and fitness store. You’ve heard about us for a long time, but did you know founder Mike G. started our company in his garage in September of 1983? His whole goal was to provide fit-minded people like you with an alternative; the ability to buy great fitness products at great prices.
Back then, phone orders were taken by hand and shipped out with hand-scribbled mailing labels. Checking inventory required a family member to open the garage door and yell, “Do we have any Excaliburs size 9?” From the beginning, the importance of family and teamwork was hugely important in our growth and success.
Over three decades later, Road Runner Sports has grown a bit. You’ll notice we now have distribution centers in San Diego, California, and Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, you’ll find neighborhood retail stores all over California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona (yeah!), Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, Georgia and Virginia, with more on the way! Road Runner Sports’ size and locations may have changed over the years, but one thing that remains the same is our commitment to you and your passion for running and fitness.
